Terms of Service

Last Updated: November 9, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Banano Sports Pools, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Banano Sports Pools is a peer-to-peer sports betting platform built on the Banano blockchain. Users can place deposits (bets) on sports games, and winnings are distributed from the losing pool to the winning pool participants. The platform operates on a transparent, blockchain-based system where all transactions are publicly verifiable.

3. Eligibility

You must be of legal age to participate in betting activities in your jurisdiction. By using this service, you represent that you meet the age requirements and are legally permitted to participate in betting activities.

4. Deposits and Payouts

  • Deposits: Deposits must be made using Banano (BAN) cryptocurrency. The minimum deposit is 1 BAN, and the maximum single deposit is 1,000 BAN.
  • Pool Activation: Pools must be activated before deposits can be placed. Activation seeds the pool with initial house funds based on current odds.
  • Payouts: Payouts are calculated automatically and distributed to winners. A 1.5% house fee is deducted from the losing pool before payouts are calculated. There is no house fee on refunds or ties.
  • Refunds: In the case of a tie, all deposits are returned. If no deposits are made on one side of a matchup, all deposits are returned to their original owners.

5. Game Cancellations and Postponements

If a game is cancelled, postponed, or does not complete for any reason, deposits will be refunded to all participants. The platform reserves the right to determine the outcome of games based on official results from data providers.

6. Deposit Confirmation

After sending BAN to the pool wallet, you must click the "Ban Sent" button to confirm your deposit. If you do not confirm your deposit, it may not be recorded in the system. Unconfirmed deposits may be lost and cannot be recovered.

7. Transparency and Verification

All bets, payouts, and pool balances are transparent and verifiable on the Banano blockchain. Users can verify all transactions using blockchain explorers such as Creeper.

8. House Role

The house (platform operator) only seeds pools to provide initial liquidity and takes a small fee (1.5%) from the losing pool to maintain the platform. The house does not bet against users; all betting is peer-to-peer.

9. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The platform operator is not responsible for:

  • Loss of funds due to user error (e.g., sending to wrong address, not confirming deposit)
  • Technical failures or network issues
  • Incorrect game results from data providers
  • Blockchain network issues or delays
  • Partial pool activation failures (though we will attempt to resolve these)

10. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate or exploit the platform
  • Use automated systems to place deposits
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Contact

For questions or support, contact elementalennui on Discord, Reddit, or Twitter.

13. Disclaimer

This is a community project and hobby application. The platform operator makes no guarantees about the availability, reliability, or profitability of the service. Use at your own risk.

What the fork is BANANO?

BANANO was forked in April 2018 from NANO. BANANO offers instant, feeless and rich in potassium 🍌 transactions, thanks to the fact that BANANO developers (several of them having being involved in NANO itself) have kept big portions of the original code unchanged to keep cross-chain compatibility between existing code libraries. However, they have fined-tuned some parameters, such as Proof of Work requirements and currency units. While the focus for now is on having an ongoing free and fair distribution, BANANO is also experimenting with feature additions such as a privacy layer (Camo BANANO), on-chain messaging (MonkeyTalks) and more. In context of distribution, we aim to use our meanwhile ready-to-strike infrastructure with easy-to-use mobile wallets (Kalium) and tipbots on several major social media platforms to onboard normies and crypto-noobs who have no idea yet what a cryptocurrency is. We also might do IRL airdrops at some point. Of note, key here is to make the start with crypto as easy as possible, use a fun attitude and gamification to get new users started without all the usual hassle, and then educate them to handle crypto in general in a responsible way.
